Tenant Spotlight

Kaufland

One of NEXT’s anchor grocery tenants is Kaufland, a powerhouse of European retail. Founded in Germany in 1984, Kaufland is part of the Schwarz Group (Lidl), one of the world’s largest retail conglomerates. In 2024 it generated €35.2 billion in revenue.

The CEE is a cornerstone of Kaufland’s international growth, with Poland being it’s second-largest market globally after Germany. One of the dominant hypermarket grocery chains in the region, they are a key driver of retail footfall. Kaufland account for 82.9% of the grocery-linked rental income of NEXT (grocery rent accounts for 59% of the total rental income). They are the anchor tenant in 3 of NEXT’s retail assets.
